Doing a little bit of searching (Thanks BooTx & Abram!) you can drag any of the on screen elements around with a simple hold of the right mouse button. This game is officially supported in all resolutions! Woohoo!
I did a little bit of research and figured out why I wasn't getting the resolution I wanted. Now I'm presented with a problem that's a little bit beyond my expertise.
We need to resize/relocate the GUI. Parts of the GUI are cut off (the TrueSwing Shot Analyser and 3 Click Control Mode, specifically) which are somewhat essential to enjoying the game. It's a fairly high rated game (the reviewers Metacritic compiled gave it an average of 91) and it still looks great for it's age.
Is there anybody out there who has a little bit of experience modifying the game who would be willing to help me accomplish this? Please post any ideas or solutions you have!
Older issue:
I was excited when I saw that UniWS supported PGA Tour 2005!
I tried opening it up and I get an issue saying the file DXWrap.dll has an error. It also told me to check to see if programs were running, etc.
After conducting a wide range of methodical testing I narrowed the cause of this issue down to the Vista/Win7 Operating System. Where I am quite satisfied overall with Windows 7 as a whole, it is different than how XP operates, producing different results. Casting aside too much technobabble, users aren't granted permission to remove Read-Only on files without changing ownership permission. In addition, checking or unchecking the folder's read-write checkbox edits the files inside the folder while not changing the Read-Write checkbox in folder properties itself. Regardless of the properties of the files inside, the read-write box of the folder remains checked.
You can edit ownership to include write permission to change your read-write ability. Easier, drag the DXWrap.dll folder out of the directory, locate it with UniWS, edit it then move it back to the original folder.
The confusion came from learning the Read-Write behavior of Windows and UniWS states you must use the 1024x768 resolution in the game for custom resolutions.
I only hope this helps everyone else who wants to enjoy this fantastic game and get it at their specified resolution to play some golf!
