AMD Releases Catalyst 10.3 Driver Update
AMD has released the the AMD Catalyst 10.3 update. Below are the updates relevant to Eyefinity gamers:
Bezel Compensation - Previously known as "Bezel Management" to Matrox TripleHead2Go users. This feature enables objects in games, applications and the Windows desktop to pass "behind" the bezels, when moving between displays. Without this feature, these objects appear to "jump" from monitor to monitor, and continuous objects appear to be broken as they pass between the monitors. To the right is a video that outlines how you set up the Bezel Compensation and how games react to the new feature.
Per-Display Color Adjustment - Individual color, brightness and contrast controls. This is beneficial for Eyefinity users who do not have matching monitors. This will allow them to match the image profiles between monitors for a unified image.
Multiple Eyefinity Groups - Allows creation of more than one ATI Eyefinity group. Would allow current users to swap between 3x1 Landscape and 3x1 Portrait without have to disable and recreate groups. Once the HD 5870 Eyefinity6 card is released, it would allow those users to store 3x1-L, 3x1-P and 5x1-Portrait groups.
Improved Display Configuration Switching - Improved support for Eyefinity groups within Catalyst Control Center profiles. Allows users to easily toggle between cloned and extended modes.
3D Stereoscopic Support - Direct3D driver updated to enable vendors such as iZ3D to output stereo left and right images as 120Hz (60Hz per eye).
