Diablo III, RAGE, BF3 and Orcs Must Die! + Two Hardware Reviews, Five New Blogs & More
I missed getting a newsletter out a couple of weeks ago, so there is double the updates to cover. Bear with me, and I'll get through them fast.
Site & Community Updates
We have re-launched our Guild Wars guild. While many are looking to the release of Guild Wars 2 next year, we've decided to reform the guild with the current game. Request an invite now to join in the fun. Additionally, if you'd like to help support the WSGF, we've launched Cafe Press & Amazon Stores.
Hardware Reviews
We've been able to complete two new hardware reviews. The first is an HDTV wallmount for large screens from Peerless. Check out what I have to say about the Peerless SA750 Universal Articulating Wall Arm. The second is an acrylic open air PC case.
The DOMA Pro PCI from MyOpenPC works great as a test bench. Both reviews have accompanying videos and can be found at http://www.youtube.com/wsgf
Key Game News/Updates
A few key stories and updates have come through the site in the last month. Be sure to check out the stories about:
- Diablo III Beta Working in Multi-Monitor (though it's in fullscreen windows mode)
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Eyefinity/Surround Fixes
- RAGE Fix for the HUD/UI
New Detailed Reports
For those not familiar with our Detailed Reports (DRs), they analyze how all aspects of a game work in widescreen and multi-monitor. They also include solutions on how to fix issues found in the widescreen and multi-monitor performance. Games with perfect (or near perfect) performance receive WSGF Certification. RAGE and Anomaly: Warzone Earth have received Certification in the last month. Here are new Detailed Reports since our last newsletter:
Blogs @ The WSGF
We launched Blogs at the WSGF last month, and they are going strong. We are picking up one or two entries per week from a variety of site members. Topics include:
- Windows 8 & Eyefinity/Surround
- A Critique of Stereoscopic 3D
- Rusty Hearts - First Impressions
- Dead Island Tutorial
- A 120ft 15MP Projection Video Wall
