[quote]Does anyone know if Eyefinity 6 will support 5 X 1 or 6 X 1, depending on display resolution. As I understand it, Eyefinity 6 has a 8K X 8K pixel limit when it comes to output resolutions. BTW. This is similar to Dual Quadraplex...

Yes, someone knows. :D

5x1 is not currently supported. 6x1 is currently supported. The limit of 8K in any dimension must be adhered to independently of the monitor configuration.

You would think we would support any arbitrary nx1 configuration, yet we don't at this time. That will come later.
Especially because 720p per-monitor would work, so Would 1600x900, for 16:10 1440x900 would also work, in fact 1600x1000 would work if you had a monitor that had decent scalars. the greatest possible res at the 8192 pixil limit would be 1638x921 (5x16:9) and 1638x1024 (5x16:10). Not that those are really applicable. Also about this limit we have a user who got 8400x1050 working with Eyefinity+SoftTH on Dirt2, my question is why haven't we been able to just have custom resolutions defined by the user? Even if you keep the same restriction where every monitor must has the same resolution, why cant we define our own resolutions? nVidia has done this for years.

Check this out, the Powercolor HD 5770 Eyefinity 5 (not a typo). If you count the outputs it's correct. That's a 5 mini DP output card.

so they're gonna release hardware without driver support?

Wouldn't be the first time that a manufacturer has done that...

Might be a 'beta' driver included on the driver CD. That happens a lot, too.

Hm, Fudzilla seems to think AMD has delayed the 5876 from March 11th to the end of the month:
According to AIB partners, AMD has delayed its Eyefinity card and the new date is set of somewhere at the end of this month.

As you probably know, the card was previously scheduled for official launch on March 11th but for some unknown reason, AMD decided to push it back. Our best guess is that it still needs to tweak the drivers a bit more.

Those with deep pockets that are eagerly waiting for Eyefinity 6 cards will have to wait a bit longer.

That's no good.

no 5x1? fail :?

main reason why I want to buy this card is 5x1 support bcoz softTH is slower about 30% than regular 3-eyefinity

I thought one of the main points of Eyefinity was that you could assign any number of supported outputs to a group, i.e. two or three on a three output card; two three, four, five or six on a six output card...

Surely the software/drivers are written to do what they do across n number of outputs. It seems almost like a software glitch to say they currently can't do a span of five at the moment - does that mean they can't do anything other than three or six? Why not?

I can confirm that 5x1 is in the works in portrait mode. I have sources that confirmed that progress is being made on the 5x1-P mode with an internal driver release at ATI. I don't have a copy yet (or six monitors yet), but I can promise that the WSGF is at the top of the list to get this driver when support is ready.

I got Bezel Compensation months before it was announced in the 10.3 preview. 5x1-P may not be ready at Eyefinity6 launch (I don't know one way or the other), but I can assure you that your patience will be rewarded.
