Hi all,

Sorry in advance about this, I'm sure everyone here is bored to tears on this particular subject, but I'm struggling with which setup to go for.

I currently have 3x Acer V243H screens hooked up via an Nvidia 9800 and a PCI card. Unfortunately all the screens are DVI, so I'm faced with the question lots of people seem to be faced with around an adaptor for one of them to convert from DisplayPort to DVI in order to switch to an Eyefinity setup. I'm running all screens at their native resolution of 1920x1080 (despite the Acer site saying they're capable of 1920x1200, which they aren't).

As I'm from the UK it seems I'm fairly limited in which adaptors I can buy. It looks like it's a choice of either the Dell active DVI one, or one of the passive VGA ones like the Startech VGA.

Can anyone suggest both a 5870 card and an adaptor which are likely to work together without any of the blanking or resolution issues? I'm not that fussed about using DVI if VGA is likely to be more stable.

Thanks in advance :)

You'll probably find useful information in the sticky thread up above, Threads of special interest for Eyefinity owners

As far as I know any ~$100 active DP->DVI adapter will work but some people have to exchange them till they get a working one, and any $30 DP->VGA adapter will work if you're lucky and your monitors are friendly with them.

Is there anywhere in the US that I can grab the Sapphire Adapter? I can't seem to find any in stock anymore.
