I managed to fix it in my case atleast.

I was intending to swap around and test the game with different versions of Direct X.

To do this, you have to remove the line in the config file saying: SET gxApi "d3d11"
And replace it with d3d9.

To my surprise, I couldnt find any input in the config file saying neither.
So I decided to test out the config file by putting the dx11 line in.

And WHOOP! Game runs perfectly without any stutters or anything. Running almost everything on ULTRA in 5760x1200 now. :)

Does this actually work? Last time i tried this DX11 mode was unable to display TH resolutions.
Pretty sure from what I've read, DX11 is around 30% faster.

Can't wait to get home now :D

Edit: THis doesn't work and any google search within a weeks activity confirms this :?

Bumping this because I'd like to see a solution to it. Ive got it running the game at 'good' right now but would like to go to ultra or high.

I can't seem to figure out what its related to at all.. All experiments prove inconclusive.

PC is over clocked and passes most tests with flying colors..

RAM is no issue either.

I was seeing high temps in FurMark during a stress test, so I flipped my fans around and I'm seeing a nice stable drop. CPU is watercooled. So avg temp is around 34C

I've go an SSD, instant load times but no fix to my chop. It seems anything above fair View distance the game struggles.

I can live with fps in the 40s and 50s, but really, the choppy ness and freezing while turning is aggravating.

I've had several games crashed due to running out of memory, even though I had plenty of free RAM because they are built on 32-bit code. This typically happened with RTS games with huge levels, such as Sins of a Solar Empire, Supreme Commander and Anno 1404. The fixed I used for these games was a program called "Large Address Aware" which allows programs to use additional RAM (past the 32-bit limitations). These worked for other games in the past, so I decided to try it on World of Warcraft - and it worked! I haven't had the game crash due to running out of memory since using the program once. I can max out view distance and all that jazz (though framerate is lower than desirable) and fly around azeroth and northrend with no crashes.

You can find it here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=112556

Thanks for the link. I can finally crank up all the settings to "ultra" and not crash moving out of a capital city!

Do you know what happens when WoW gets patched? Will LAA handle it?

I am having very similar issues.

Recently set up with 6970's crossfired , with UD3R MB, I7-950 oc'd to 3.4, Ram is 6gb 1600mhz 8 8 8 24 timings. Crucial C300 SSD 64gb x2 raided

I have eyefinity set up in a 1 over 3 on ASUS VE248H's (flipped 'T') using the top monitor as extended desktop to monitor temps and such.

Playing WoW is a headache at best, the frames are above 100 if moving straight forward, but if I try to turn its choppy and frames drop to 5 or so.

I have tried disabling crossfire, disabling extended desktop, various Overclocks on the CPU but nothing seems to help unless I set WoWs settings to good... as high or ultra produces horrible performance.

I was using an Nvidia 9600 GSO and was able to run on Ultra settings with no problems..

I shouldnt be experiencing this kind of problems with these cards I have now. Can anyone please help me ??

have you tried running driver sweeper then upgrading to catalyst 11.2? seemed to fix it for me ..kinda

also try /console farclip 777 in game. I noticed that reducing view distance in eyefinity fixes the choppyness. in most zones you can't see beyond 777.

i have all my settings at good, right now, it seems playable..

my specs:

AMD 965 BE @ 4.01 ghz
Crossfire 5850 1GB DDR5
4GB OCZ 1600 @ 9-9-9-24

idk what else to tell ya buddy :( been fighting this for a while now. don't forget to download the latest application profiles too!!

Its a new set up, so 11.2 is the only version its ever had. I also downloaded the profiles too. I will have to try the farclip 777 in game and see what happens.
