If it's crashing for you try doing this:

Put Widescreen Fixer.exe and the Library.*.dll files in one folder. Do not put any Plugin.*.dll files in that same folder. Start Widescreen Fixer and see if it still crashes. This should help narrow it down.

Edit:
You can also try downloading and using ProcDump, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900

procdump.exe -e -x "Widescreen Fixer.exe" "Widescreen Fixer.dmp"

Removing the plugin's allows the app to start

Old app isn't updated for MW3

Look like none of the above isn't working.

Separating to different folder make it think longer before nothing happens.

ProcDump won't open ether... it's Window just appearing for third of second and disappearing.

Frustrating. Please help

Old app is updated for MW3 now. I updated it under demand. I would prefer people try the test version and help me get rid of bugs since I hope to replace the old version with the test version soon.

If you can, please go through each game plugin one-by-one until you can find the one that causes it to crash.

If not, try putting all plugins back in the same directory with Widescreen Fixer and running the command above, and then sending me the .dmp file.

You'll need to run it from the Command Prompt.

I've uploaded a new test version with some better exception checking.

Can you download it and see if it still crashes, and if it does, what error it reports?

Thanks.

I've completed porting the old plugins.

The full list of plugins supported in the test version:

  • Battlefield 2

  • Battlefield 2142

  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2

  • BioShock

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

  • Call of Duty: World at War

  • Darkest of Days

  • Ghost Recon

  • Halo

  • L.A. Noire

  • SEGA Rally Revo

  • Serious Sam 3: BFE

  • Singularity

  • SkyDrift

  • Sonic Generations

  • Star Wars: The Old Republic

  • Stranglehold

  • Unreal Tournament 3

  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

  • Wolfenstein

Download it here:

Please test this version as much as you can. I'd like to replace the old version of Widescreen Fixer with this version soon.

Theses are the things left I'd like to implement before I replace it:

  • Implement some kind of update checking for new versions.

  • Implement AMD Eyefinity support for automatic display detection.

Command prompt can not see the path specified.

Nothing works for WSF. Version 3.0.277

It started with Steam patch Jan. 25. Now everything working but this.

Any help would be good.

May be something wrong with my PC?...

Can you try to explain what happens in detail when you launch Widescreen Fixer?

You select the game from the drop-down list, then press the gear (configure) button and configure it, and then when in-game you press the hotkey to enable it?

After extraction as usual did go to properties/compatibility tab/ set run this program as an administrator...

Restart PC. Double click to open WSF... Nothing happens for like 2-5 sec. I see clock like turning circle (W7)

In Windows Task Manager/Process tab at the end of the list I see it (widescreen fixer 4,832K) trying to start.
It appears for the same 2-5 seconds then disappearing.

super weird...

Thank's for reply

Alright, try this then.

Put procdump.exe in the same folder as Widescreen Fixer.exe.

Open up a command prompt and navigate to the Widescreen Fixer directory.

Run this command,
procdump.exe -e -x "Widescreen Fixer.exe" "Widescreen Fixer.dmp"

Send me the .dmp file.
