Hi,

I have a Iiyama tft E511S 20.1 inch 16 ms with a native resolution of 1600x1200

Now i am thinking about the Dell 2405FPW 24-inch ( http://www.tweakers.net/reviews/568) But that monitor has a native resolution of 1920x1200.

If i look in game @ the options i can choose from different resoluyions but not 1920x1200, ik can choose 1600x1200 (that i am using now) and then the next resolution i can choose in game is 2048x1536 so not the 1920x1200 resolution.
I was wondering if it's possible in any way to play perfectly without blurring etc.
I play Call of duty very much in a very good clan so gaming is the most inportant to me. (especially call of duty)

Sorry for my poor english :)

Call of Duty, as a Quake 3 engine game, can be edited to work in widescreen. However, if you play in a clan (and the servers you use use Punkbuster) you'll have problems getting the FOV set correctly since increasing it seems to be picked up as a 'cheat'.

There are lots of threads around the forum with more information on this, if you search for them. :)

Yes, it is more than possible - you can either play it at 1600x1200 with black bars down the sides (via the OSD on the screen) or play it at 1920x1200 with the FOV set to normal. :) The second option might mean that the models on screen are a bit fat, but it's better that getting kicked by punkbuster for 'cheating'... even though it's not a cheat.

Hi, one thing to keep in mind is that your video card has to support that resolution. I recommend visiting Dell's site for a full listing of supported cards. Chances are that if your in-game options are not showing this particular resolution, that it is not supported. However it may also be possible to add it as a custom resolution (I needed to do this with my 6800 card for use with Dell 2005fpw)

Someone on another forum said to me to add this :

seta r_mode -1
seta r_customwidth 1920
seta r_customheight 1200
vid_restart

Do i get a problem with punkbuster with that settings or just the models who are a bit fat ?

That should be fine. It's only things like cg_fov alterations that Punkbuster picks up as cheats.

Yeah. :) At least to avoid Punkbuster telling you that you're cheating.

Ok, but another last question, if i play with the black stripes res.1600x1200 then i not play in the native resolution of that screen.

I thought you alway's have to play in the native res. of a screen, in this case the native res. is 1920x... so if i play with the black stripes and not in the native resolution do i have a problem then ?? blurring or ghosting ?
