Hi guys,

I'm sure you've already heard of it! The Dark Mod 2.0 released a few days ago.
This version doesn't need Doom 3 anymore, it's a stand alone!

You can download the game (2gb) from their Homepage(currently down :rockout: ) or you could use a [url=magnet:?xt=urn:btih:c88dcde604cabbdf6913e0171ce759e878eedf2f&dn=tdm%5Fwin.zip&tr =udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.publicbt.com%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbit torrent.com%3A80%2Fannounce]torrent[/url]. (magnet Link! that's the one i used, works fine)

The problem is! This game does NOT support Eyefinity/surround. in the totally outdated wiki you can find a few tweaks for custom resolution and fov.
Code:
seta r_customWidth "5760"
seta r_customHeight "1080"
seta r_mode "-1"
seta r_aspectratio 2           // means 16:10, "1" is 16:9, other ratios are not yet supporred
seta g_fov "140"

But the Main menue is stretched an ingame looks horrible.

i would love to post some Screenshots about that, but MSI Afterburner only made Screenshots of "TheDarkMod" when i had it in 1920x1080, any other resolution resultet in a screenshot of a black desktop.

Soo.... the game is said to be open Source, anyone has knowledge and time to play around with the Doom 3 engine ?

greets,
Haldi

Damn I wanted to see screens - Fraps doesn't work either? What about in window mode?

Agree'd, Surround/Eyefinity support would be very nice.

See this wiki entry for instructions on surround resolutions for the standalone game. It fixes the in game stretching, but not the menus etc.

What's the ideal FoV setting for 48:1 aspect ratio? I'm getting very heavy fish-eye lens effect.

Err...I left g_fov at default and changed only the r_fovRatio, which seems fine for me. It seems to autoadjust the FoV from that. So for you (assuming you meant 48:10), r_fovRatio at 4.8 should yield FoV of 148.95 if the default is 90 at a 4:3 ratio (courtesy of this tool). I don't know if r_fovRatio changes the g_fov variable automatically, but you could check it from the developer console, and use it for a bit of fine tuning if you want (I presume).

Amon, you want to set your r_fovRatio to "4.801", not 48.

Nox is correct. This works.

I'm using 5916x1200 bezel comp with seta r_fovRatio "5.931" in my fovRatio and the game render works fine.

Overlays such as the Menu, HUD, and readables are stretched still. Centered HUD would be nice.

The readables you can pick up and put in your inventory get stretched under the bezel and are hard to read sometimes so I wouldn't use a bezel compensated resolution for now.

Readables you can't pick up work fine since you can sway your mouse left to right and read the whole thing.

I tried getting HaYDeN to work on fix for this via PM but I think he's too busy at the moment.

I wish we had a centered HUD.

Are there any other Doom 3 games that already have a HUD stretch fix implemented?

Elo chaps

Team member from the Darkmod forums here, I can confirm a working config on both 'Eyefinity' and 'nVidia 2D surround' in TDM 2.0/2.01?

- http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/1226 ... _p__246908

My system:

Win 8
GTX670 w/314.22 driver
3x 1680*1050 (5040*1050 w/bezel correction)

My darkmod.config:
seta r_mode "-1"
seta r_aspectRatio "0" - means ignored
seta r_customWidth "5040"
seta r_customHeight "1050"
set com_videoram "2048"
seta r_fovRatio "4.91"

I will update the WSGF article over the next few days.

The Set com_videoram is unrelated to MultiMonitor right?

If you dont set it is standard 512 or 1024 or why do you set it?
