RE: "is this DX10? I don't think it is."

As it is a Vista game - it is reported to be such.

Quad cores are already out for a while.

There aren't many applications which make use of quad core processors yet. Alan Wake will be one of the first games which will. It'll apparently use one core for physics calculations, one for streaming data, one for graphics preparation, and one for general gameplay and AI calculations.

The Source engine will also make use of quad cores soon:

Aye, I doubt Aegia PhysX will survive much longer. There's just no real need for it with multi-core general-purpose CPUs becoming standard hardware in gaming systems.

Yeah. I mean, if games can make windows utilize those 2 extra cores well enough, Physx is dead.

When was PhysX ever alive? lol

How many people actually bought one? I really feel sorry for those who did, what a complete waste of money.

I bought one ... whilst it's not in my main machine anymore and I bought it pretty much just for GRAW ... it enhanced it quite a bit and added to my enjoyment of the game ... even if GRAW wasn't the game I was hoping it to be.
No regrets ... don't feel sorry for me I don't feel I wasted my money.

It's all relative and just a point of view ... :D
