Hello I believe this will be my first post in here. Awesome forum for gamers that care about performance and style. I'm seriously thinking about get the TH2G w/ three 19" monitors. I have to do a little upgrading first though.

I'm still using AGP and I don't think there is an AGP card out there that can do what I want so I was looking around Newegg and found these:

ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA775 Nvidia nForce 650i M.B
1gb of DDR2 Corsair
and a eVGA 512-P2-N637=AR GeForce 7950GT 512mb GDDR3 PCI-E x16

First of all is this capable of running the TH2G for now, until I really upgrade later on?

Thanks for your help. I want to make sure I'm making the right decision before spending that kind of money. I will have to buy a new monitors too which is the biggest cost.

Please tell me like it is. I need your suggestions.

Thank you, Jarrott

Hi there and welcome to the forums!

That system will run th2go, but its the game you decide to run which may be the issue. Halo for example runs super fast cos it's getting on a bit, FEAR on the other hand may struggle on that machine.

I mean i run Morrowind but because its mainly cpu driven I get about 15 to 20 fps outdoors and I use an x2 4600, 2 gigs dominator ram and a 8800gts! Yet Half Life 2 flies along... Hope this helps and happy gaming!

A 7950GT will run the TripleHead2Go just fine. In some very demanding games such as F.E.A.R. or R6: Las Vegas, you may have to lower some settings. In most situations it will fly.

An AGP system might work too. I used a TripleHead2Go with an AGP 6800GT for a while and in most cases it wasn't a problem. I had problems in games that were already GPU-limited before moving to triplehead, but I could always find acceptable settings.

I mainly play racing sims like rFactor and Nascar
However I also play first person shooters every now and then just for kicks. I deffinetly will once I get the TH2G...I'll have an edge on those that don't. :D

That's odd. I have an Asus V9999 which is a 6800GT 128mb and it is terrible compared to the ATI X850XT 256mb that I'm using now. I only get around 25 fps with the 6800GT. I popped it in the other day thinking or hoping that maybe I can get it running up to par but no success...Maybe I'm missing something. I bought this ATI card cheap to resell but I made the mistake of trying it out first and it blew my 6800GT away so I had to keep it. If it would do the resolution that the TH2G requires I think it would run it fine but it won't do the resolution so I have to find another card that will. If I could get by with just getting an AGP card I would till I could afford to go all out on a new system at a later date.

I'm mainly play rFactor.

Thanks for the help guys and the welcome to this forum.

I too use rFactor, at 3072x768. With all of the mods out there, my graphics settings can vary wildy based on the car and the track. Certain combinations allow me to crank everything to the max, while others mean I have to turn setings down to medium or lower. I once ran a 28-car online event with night racing that required some truly fugly settings. It all depends on the specific situation.

I would recommend a GF7 card 7800gs or better 7800gs gainward 24 pipes.

I found this table from a review of the TH2G. In it is a simple table that shows approximately how many pixels are being rendered.

Using the number of pixels rendered as a base you can determine the performance differences between surround and 4:3 resolutions.

This means that the framerates you would see at the TH2G resolution of 3840x1024 is almost the same as if you ran the game at 2560x1600. Assuming that you have a monitor capable of running that high.
