The fix for MVP 2005 also happens to work for FIFA World Cup 2006.

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/5825

Follow the instructions and FIFA will switch to 1680x1050x32 when the match starts, NOT IN THE MENUS.

Also, after you've done this, the resolution in the menu will still say '800x600x32' (or whatever resolution you choose to overwrite) but the resolution will actually be 1680x1050x32. Use a program like FRAPS to take a screenshot if you want to confirm it for yourself.

Did the World cup 2006 hack worked for you SMS? I followed the instructions (Third, load mvp2005.exe into the hex editor.

Fourth, in this part, you will change 800x600 mode to 1920x1200.

Find (ctrl + F) ' 20 03 00 00 58 02 '

Overwrite it with ' 80 07 00 00 B0 04 ' ) but it can't find that value anywhere in the world cup.exe file.

The solution for FIFA 06 also works (for me anyway). Just put resolution=1680x1050x32 to the target box of the start menu shortcut. It is much easier.

But the same problem as the hex edit method, no fov change, so the image is stretched.

There is no solution for SimCity 4: Rush Hour AFAIK. The link above only works without Rush Hour.

I did that too, but I doesn't seem to work. Be careful though, sometimes it can be tricky, maybe you are still at, let's say for example at 1280x1024 and you may think its a 1680x1050, the way I can tell, is for example if you lcd screen gives you a notice that the current resolution is not the optimun. Can you confirm that you are really at 1680x1050 ?

Yes, I did check the the information the LCD gave me and it was indeed at 1680x1050.

This easier solution could be hardware dependent though, as someone else at http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/6317 also mentioned the target box solution didn't work for him.

adding resolution=1680x1050x32 works for me, too
(notice that menus are still not this resolution!)

guess, this should be added to the game list :)

the bad taste on it is that picture is stretched as mentioned above :(
