[quote]I played Ghostrecon with my 30" dell and it was unplayable even with SLI enabled geforce7800GTX in my FX-55 system with 2gb of RAM. :x

Which one? The original or GRAW?

I think he just means it is too slow to play because of the performance demands of the game and the insane resolution of 2560x1600.

I have tested and confirmed:

Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban
Leisure Suit Larry: MCL
Neverwinter Nights
Guild Wars
Crashday Demo
Lego Star Wars II

How did you make Neverwinter Nights work? That game came out at the same time as Deus Ex right? I could not make Deus Ex work beyond 2048x1536. Was there something special you did that I could try. I am desperate to play Deus Ex at 2560x1600. It was the game I was most looking forward to playing at 2560x1600. I Visual Studio 2003, is there anyway to maybe mod it or something. I am willing to learn c+ for it.

I've tested and confirmed,

Rome: Totalwar (native)
Pacific fighters (ini) (I think all Ill sturmovik games should work too) (ini)
WarhammerDOW 1.30. (ini)
Galactic civilisations 2(native)
Star wars: Empire at war (native)
Star wars: Knights of the old republic. (uniwins) (kortor 2 should work too)
Age of pirates (ini)
Sword of the stars (native)
quake IV (native)
X3- the threat (native)
Star wars: Jedi Knight 2: jedi outcast. (ini) I'm guessing jedi academy will also work.

Partial
Star wars Battelfront II (native)
The games has severe color problems on certain maps and the main weapon of the clone commander has a big square hole in it. Otherwise it runs fine.

Regards,
Zarkov

NWN is native. For Deus Ex, and other games, be sure to hit the MGL for the solutions.

I made an update with everything except "Sword of the stars" We don't have any entry for that in the site. Can you write a detailed report on it?

Red Alert 2 Doesn't work

Red Alert 2, being a game made before widescreen monitors really existed, will run ANY resolution upon editing the config file. And the nice thing is, the higher the resolution you run, the more of the playing field you see! Although when playing online you must either choose 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768 or it will revert to the lowest resolution.

I played Ghostrecon with my 30" dell and it was unplayable even with SLI enabled geforce7800GTX in my FX-55 system with 2gb of RAM. :x

I'm sure two GeForce 7800GTX's would blow away the original Ghost Recon at any resolution. He must be talking about GRAW. Don't even get me started on that steaming pile of crap... even if you turn all the details to the lowest, 800x600 resolution, it's still hard to get above 40FPS with any card. It's such a shame, because the game is way WAY too demanding, horrible gameplay, yet it's completley widescreen compatible...

So I take it you have tried it at 2560x1600?

Yep it's crossfire. The system runs great but it really is demanding even for my x1900's. I can understand how even two 7800gtx will struggle on a modern game. Some games are unebleivable while others seem to get a huge performance hit. Hitman Blood Money is not only gorgeous at 25600x1600 but runs great even at max settings and all that on just one XTX. I will try GRAW and see how ir runs on my system.

TESTS:

Condemned: Criminal Origions: Has native 2560x1600 support, fantastic. Out of the box .

The Godfather: No 2560x1600 no matter what. 1600x1200 is max.

Call of Cthullu: Native 2560x1600. Great out of box experience.

Fable Lost chapters: native 2560x1600. Great OOB experience.

Call of Juarez: Native 2560x1600 support but a total bxxxx on peformance with SM3.0. and soft shadows Also has crossfire , HDR+AA support with the chuck patch, by renaming exe. to Oblivion.
