Cat 6.8's are out now BUT

Known Issues for Catalyst® Software Suite 6.8
"Elder Scolls IV: Oblivion: Setting the in game video option to High Resolution and setting the 3D option in the Catalyst® Control Center to Optimal Quality may result in corruption being noticed when playing the game. Further details can be found in topic number 737-23057"

https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/Catalyst_68_release_notes.html

Yet search for 737-2305 indicated it doesn't exist? :?

Nice review :)

I'm runnign oblivion with everything maxed out at 1680x1050. Sometimes it can feel a bit slow in the cities but everything else runs flawlessly.

Hey Dougofthenorth

Well i hope you'll enjoy rogue trooper when you get around to picking it up

btw they have it online pretty cheap at

http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/924491/Rogue_Trooper/Product.html

£9.99 inc free worldwide del (about $21CA) a bud in CA who ordered some films from them tells me it takes items about 10days to arrive

And while it doesnt meet your 2006 criteria the Starship trooper FSP is well worth a play after patching it up (play.com also has it in a 3 for £10 pc game offer atm) if you enjoyed the film? im sure you'll enjoy the game both have a B movie charm about them, and wipping out hordes of bugs with big guns is pretty fun

i suggest you try the demo to see if you like how it runs as it can be a bit of a pig even on high end systems

http://download.nvidia.com/downloads_emea/Starship_troopers/StarshipTroopersPM_Demo.zip

Cheers
Gizmo

Definetly check out Prey, great graphics and nice story line, you can waste hours just admiring the portals.

Also try the Dark Messiah demo, its a FPS but with a touch of RPG so you can choose which your better at, physical weapons or magical weapons. Its a bit like oblivion, but more intensive fighting than just hording loot.

Call of Duty 2 has some great single player action, helped by the AI, the bots actually work with you rather than getting in your way.

Picked Prey up yesterday - it's a great game :D

It's cross between Doom3, Halo. & Decent (in parts)

So let's see, no online FPS, RTS or RPG? Wow....

Let's see.... Duke Nukem 3D, Half Life 1, and Frogger 2000...

I'd have to validate the previous suggestions of GRAW, Oblivion, FEAR, and HL2. My contribution to the list would be Max Payne 2... the graphics run sweet even on a Ti4200  and the storyline is classic noir at its best.
