Hey-hey ... cranky that is quite a list ...
I'll see what I can do to add them to the voting list ... I suspect it may be too many ...

Oh, I wasn't trying to make a laundry list of requests for Racer_S. It's just a list of games that I consider to be the best that lack hor + widescreen and would benefit if they had it. It's just some suggestions that can be added or not to the voting list/queue as you see fit. My hope was that other posters might notice an old favorite on the list that they wouldn't have thought about otherwise and say "Oh yeah, you should add that one to the voting polls."

Since you asked, here's the list divided based on how good I think each game is:

Gifts from the gods:
Max Payne (stretch)
Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II (vert -)
System Shock 2 (no support)
Thief (no support)
Thief 2 (no support)
Ultima IX: Ascension (vert -)
Warcraft III (stretch)

Great games:
Aliens vs Predator 2 (stretch)
Grand Theft Auto 2 (vert -)
Hitman: Codename 47 (no support)
Hitman 2 (vert -)
Mafia (vert -)
Max Payne 2 (stretch)
No One Lives Forever 2 (stretch)

Good games:
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project (vert -)
Ghost Recon (vert -)
Hexen II (vert -, open source)
TRON 2.0 (stretch)

The other three are recent ones that I haven't actually played, but they look really good, and I definitely will someday:
Heroes of Might and Magic V (stretch)
Hitman: Blood Money (vert -)
Sam & Max: Season One (no support)

Also ... I could be wrong it was a long time ago but I remember playing Mafia in TripleHead on my old Parhelia and if it was vert- I'm sure it would have been obvious ... it is also in the matrox SGU.

It's definitely vert - in widescreen. I checked not such a long time ago. Maybe Matrox figured out an FOV hack. If that's the case, it would be great if the hack could be reproduced for widescreen users.

I do not think there is enough visual data in some parts of Sam and Max for anything other than stretch.

Or just blackness in the parts where there isn't enough world geometry to fill the viewport. If this turns out to be the case, then there would be some parts of the game that have cosmetic bugs, but that's just the nature of hacks.

Kind of like a 4:3 resolution? :)

EDIT - I guess I should try and get a stretch going.

DOUBLE EDIT - Not going to well. Where are they hiding it?

Ok ... I have added Max Payne from the top of your list and Command and Conquer Renegade suggested by BlueMak.
It won't allow me to add any more to the list.

Re Mafia ...

I'll ask the Matrox rep I'm in touch with as I don't have the game anymore.

Thank you Paddy. There are many gamers that play Renegade online and this would be a great gift to everyone (including of course myself).
