Just in case there's any confusion:

UniWS only works on a no-CD (cracked) version of the KOTOR 2 executable!

No offense to anyone if they already knew this and it still isn't working, but in the past, 9/10 of the posts about people saying UniWS wasn't working were trying to use it on the normal retail executable.

Furthermore, it requires a specific cracked version. I don't feel comfortable direct linking it, but hopefully some generic directions will be ok. Note that this just a cracked EXE for the game that you still install from CD, not directions to a pirated version of the game.

1) Search on "no cd" in Google, go to the first link that comes up.
2) Search on "sith lords" at that site and follow the first link.
3) The specific one you want is: "Knights of the Old Republic 2 v1.0b/v1.02b (v2.1.0.0) [ENGLISH] Fixed EXE" by CARBON.

As mentioned there: you install the game, install the patch, then simply copy that EXE into the game directory.

The Uniws patcher worked for me, however the fmvs are not anamorphic and are very tiny, 640 x 480 i'm assuming. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I tried to follow the hexidecimal guide but I'm after a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and I don't know the values to put in the .exe

There are a lot of fmv's in kotor 2 and I can't really play the game properly with it like this.

Please help me :(

EDIT: Nevermind I fixed it, didn't see the hexidecimal guide posted above

Thanks, now I can play it properly. :D

Hi guys, I've followed the patching process to the letter, using the no-cd .exe and the GUI fix file in override. Patched up ok and it looks like its worked from how the hardware mouse pops up. But just before it loads the main menu up I get a CTD EVERY time with the usual "this program has encountered and error...." yada yada yada

Patched to what resolution? Did you check that the game ran ok before making any edits?

I patched it up to the latest version v1.0b I think?? Installed the no-cd.exe specified and patched to 1680x1050. I didn't check the game beforehand no, could it be the cracked .exe?

edit: removed patch and put game back to settings just after install. tried another mirror for the same crack, patched again but same result... instant CTD

do I have to use the US patch version? Because I used the UK international version...

EDIT: Ok I uninstalled/installed, game ran ok up to the char creation... click play and bam CTD again. Patched to 1.0b, same thing.

This was using the original .exe unpatched by uniws. Dont know why it wont run...

I had endless problems with the UK release of KotORII. Didn't matter whether I ran it patch or unpatched, no-CD or original .exe... major game breaking bugs. :( My cousin apparently had no issues, but I've been unable to get it working properly on three systems now. :(

Sorry to hear that Tim, sounds like a general problem with the game/your system then and not anything related to editing it for widescreen.

You'll have to get the game up and running normally before you do any patching for widescreen. I'd ask in the troubleshooting section over on LucasForums.com, there's a pretty active community there.
