== Game Information ==

SWAT 4 and its expansion, The Stetchkov Syndicate, are tactical FPSes in the Rainbow Six-inspired CQB area. It features a campaign mode, quick mission maker, randomly placed enemies/friendlies, and an Internet or LAN online mode.

== Version ==

This is based off SWAT 4 v1.1 and The Stetchkov Syndicate v1.0 (latest patches

as of 3/2008). There will likely be no more patches.

== Method ==

Sadly, this game requires a .ini solution, as widescreen is not selectable from the in-game options.

To set to a widescreen resolution, change the following files

ContentSystemSwat4.ini
ContentExpansionSystemSwat4X.ini (for the expansion)

Find the following lines and set them to your desired value:

FullscreenViewportX=xxx
FullscreenViewportY=xxx
MenuViewportX=xxx
MenuViewportY=xxx

They are in the "[WinDrv.WindowsClient]" section.

NOTE: Swat4.ini and Swat4X.ini will not exist if you have not run the game yet.

== Screen Change ==

The screen change is Vert-, despite trying to add the FOV lines to User.ini that would normally do the trick in UE2 games.

1680x1050

1280x720

1024x768

== Supported Resolutions ==

I have successfully run the game at the following resolutions: 1920x1200, 1920x1080, 1680x1050, 1440x900, 1280x800, 1280x768, 1280x720, 960x600. It exhibited the same behaviors at all resolutions, and didn't crash for me.
It should scale up as well as most other UE2 games.

== Singleplayer Anomalies ==

No known anomalies.

== Multiplayer support ==

No known anomalies.

== Aspect ratio support ==

The aspect ratio is Vert- for 16:10.

== HUD Stretch ==

Both loading screens and the in-game HUD will stretch accordingly. On the mission setup screens, some text will be clipped at aspect ratios below 16:10, even when setting the MenuViewport properly.

== Cut-scenes ==

The loading screens will actually render at 640x480 when a custom resolution is set, so they will either be pillarboxed or stretched, depending on your monitor settings.

There are no in-game pre-rendered cutscenes. The mission-starting letterboxed bit is still letterboxed, but Vert- to the same degree as normal single-player.

== Grading ==

Calculated grade: C-
Potential grade: C+

== Screen Change ==

This is vert -, not stretch. An easy way to verify this is to resize the widescreen image to 1024x640 (so it has the same width as the 1024x768 but is still widescreen) and then flip back and forth between the two. Also, you might as well not include the FOV setting below the pictures, because it doesn't do anything.

== Supported Resolutions ==

Were there any resolutions that you know your system supports, but failed to run in SWAT 4? Because there are some resolutions unaccounted for here. They should all either be confirmed to work, confirmed to fail, or listed as untested.

Your missing resolutions are:
1280x720, 1280x768, 1920x1080, 1920x1200

== Singleplayer anomalies ==

This section is missing. Please include it. If you didn't find any anomalies, say so in this section.

== Multiplayer support ==

I'm willing to bet MP is vert -, just like SP.

== Aspect ratio support ==

Since you couldn't test 16:9, note that in this section.

== Cut-scenes ==

Loading screens aren't important. Does the game actually have cut-scenes? If so, do they render at widescreen, or only at 640x480?

Some additional notes, a few months late...

The game works at 1920x1200, 1920x1080, 1280x720. I don't have screen shots of 16:9, since that test was on someone else's laptop, but it looked to be Vert-, as with 16:10.

The corrupted 2D elements can be fixed. In the aforementioned Swat4.ini and Swat4x.ini files, change the lines

MenuViewportX=XXXX
MenuViewportY=YYYY

to the resolution you want. This fixes all the corruption.

Minor unresolved issues:
Is 1280x768 supported?
Need screenshots showing the corrupted 2D elements fixed
Need 16:10 and 16:9 comparison shots
How about the cut-scenes?
