==Game Information==
Halo: Combat Evolved is a first person shooter developed by Bungie Studios and published by Microsoft Games. Released on November 15, 2001, it was a launch title for the Xbox and helped push the console ahead in the console war. It was ported to the PC and Mac in 2003 and has spawned several sequels.

The player assumes the role of Master Chief, the rank of a cybernetically enhanced warrior who is fighting to save Earth from an alien race called "The Covenant." Deserted on a mysterious "Halo" ring world, he is left to discover its deadly secrets.

Here is the FOV tool:

On the old site there was a note saying the tool works only with HALO versions 1.04-1.06. Works fine for me with 1.06, have not tested the others.

Does the FOV hack change it from Vert- to Hor+? If so, can we update the DR?

I think it does. Needs 1 more test...

WS, no FOV tool:

With FOV tool (93 degrees setting):

1024x768 (not exactly the same spot, but close)

Looks like the tool gives Hor+ and some Vert+ over a 4:3 image, depending on settings. Example:

FOV tool at 100 degrees:

DR's really need to be centered around the "endorsed" solution. If the FOV tool enables hor + without any crippling drawbacks, then the FOV tool should be our endorsed solution. Sorry to bear the bad news, but I think this DR doesn't count, and it would be better to start one over from scratch than to "update" it.

I fully agree, The DR should always be based on the method that would give it the highest score.
