My monitors are quite nice but fairly low resolution. 1280 x 1024.

I will be running 3840 x 1024 resolution. Using both DVI outputs and I need an adapter to go DP to DVI for my third monitor.

Do I need to $100 adapter or can I get away with the $20 passive adapter?

I'm not exactly sure what the limit is of single channel DVI but I'm curious if I fall under that limit.

Thanks,
traustic

Passive adapters wont work, if your monitors have DVI-I you may be able to use a DP->VGA adapter and then a VGA ->DVI-I adapter, other wise, you have to use the $100 adapter. Or wait for ati.
