[quote]That review is a little outdated. Since then, Matrox has released a new firmware update that allows max 3 x 1680 x 1050 for newer Nvidia cards and max 3 x 1440 x 900 for newer Ati cards (including HD 4000 series).
3x1440x900 isn't that optimal on 3x1920x1200 screens though. It'll get scaler unsharpness. 3x1680x1050 is bearable though on 3x1920x1200. I do 3x1680x1050 on my 3X 24". I'd suggest he test out 3x1440x900 via SoftTH and see if he can stand the blurryness in-game.
I personally am doing 3 x 1360 x 768 upscaled to 3 x 1920 x 1080 and I find it very acceptable (maybe my eyesight is not that good and doesnt see any unsharpness or maybe the scaler of the HDTVs are just so good to minimize the blurriness).
Anyway, if one cannot accept the upscaling by 24" monitors, one can fall back to 20"/22" monitors. The trade-off between image quality and screen image size is actually very small.
