I get 5-15 fps with everything on minimum. Its almost as if the game tries to run itself entirely off the cpu.

My specs are in my -sig.

Here is vantage score

Its pretty good in single screen. From what I have found out, later generation cards are actualy performing poorer with this game.

I got out of sli and did see some what of a improvement. Still realy choppy at anything but 2400x600. I do not have an option to go 5040x1050, only 3840x1024

One thing I noticed with FSX is if I had a secondary monitor setup outside my TH2Go setup it would drop the framerate waaaay down. If you have a secondary monitored enabled in windows, try disabling it before playing.

I use 4 monitors in total when I play fsx. The 3 monitors are connected to the triplehead2go and the 4th one to the second dvi out. I ONLY use the 4th monitor to display the 2D Cockpit(Gauges). I tried to use it to display 3D images like outside view, etc, and it will really2x kill the framerate. In addition, I just use 16 bit and bilinear filtering for my 4th monitor since I am only displaying 2D images anyway.

Hi bloomstomb, I can feel your pain :( I was so deflated when I started FSX for the first time only to witness the worse slideshow ever... :(
Initially Microshaft released FSX with no support for multi core processors, so the sim would only take advantage of one of the cores in your CPU, which of course was a serious problem :) They have however patched it or service packed it but I think that their multi core support is suspect to say the least.
If you have been into the FS Series for any length of time, you have to remember that this series is always 2 years ahead of the available hardware at release which of course is amplified when trying to run at the resolutions most of us try to run here.
The good news is that the flight sim community is huge and rabid about their simming so there are tons of fixes, tweaks and the like out there so getting decent performance is just a matter of some legwork.
It's really unfortunate and dissapointing that Microsoft and other developers continue to use us, the paying public as Beta testers for supposedly finished products but I doubt that will change.

Hey guys, I'm experiencing a similar thing. I leave most of my settings for scenery at med high,

traffic is very low and I run at 3 x 1440 x 900 using triplehead2go TH2G.

I keep framrates at unlimited.

I find that no matter what I do, when I switch from 1 screen to 3 screens my fram rates drop significantly (from ~40-50 FPS to ~20 FPS)

Therefore TH2G must have some significant effect on the FPS.

My system is:

Q6600 2.4 GHz
2.75 GB of RAM although I have 4 GB installed win Win 32bit
and 8800 GTS Alphadog Edition.

I am wondering if this FPS drop is due to my GPU.

Neosin claims:

q6600 2.4ghz
3 gigs 800ddr2
8800gt oc

playing at 5040x1050

all settings on max cept for a few on about 90% of slider

getting 20-30fps i'll screenshot if u want

i'm on vista 32 btw

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???
It must be the OC of the 8800 GT???

Please advise!!!

Hmm I have UTX and I have not tried testing the FPS without it... I'm going to see if I can OC my 8800GTS and observe if it makes a difference... I just get really pissed when I dreop down to 15-17 fps near major cities...

Is flight terrain X much diff than Ultimate terrain X?
