So I got another 5870 on the way. I had to flash the bios on the current one to get rid of the flashing monitor problem. I am curious if I should flash the second one to the same bios as well my first card. Or if this will not be needed since I will be using it as the second card in crossfire.

If I don't flash it, is there a chance it could reproduce the monitor flashing problem?

Which BIOS fixed the flashing monitor thing?

Was it the non-DP monitor that was flashing? Or was it only when Overdrive was enabled?

You wont need to because the main card controls the displayport signal strength.

I was pondering the same thing if I got another 5870 card. Good to know.

So as we know it the primary output card to the monitors only need the bios flash that fixes the blinking issue and the second card (in Xfire) just adds performance...right?

Yea seems to be the case. I got my card in and have had no issues. Another ULPS feature that weirded me out was. If you set the fan speed to both cards. Your second one one kick on till you launch a 3D app. Since while in 2D the card is basically shut off.
