Ok so colour me excited... after months of being XP and within days of me getting a free copy of Win7, the latest NV drivers allow me to get 5040. And according to Thales he can tun DX10! Not tested here just installed it and this is the first thing I have done.

ATi releases EF, very popular and now (after months of us whinging about it) 5040 is back!

I used 191.07, GXM 2_05_00_020 and firmware v2.3.40.t6.56. And the wizard works....

So don't give up, please try it, my EF purchase now on hold. I can now wait until Fermi gets out cos I have Win7 Pro 64 bit @ 5040 :)

I've just upgraded the nvidia drivers on my PC from 190.56 to 191.07 and have found it to work as well. (Note my setup was working with version 190.56 @ 5040x1050@57Hz before)

I've also managed to setup a custom 5040x1050@58Hz to get rid of a monitor nag screen but will see how long that lasts before the GXM blows it out of the water...

Thanks Thales and Mach for pointing this out.

EDIT2: Eh, now 191.03 doesn't work either.
EDIT: Nope, was a little too hasty there. This driver causes the screen output to go all nutty in both Aion and Majesty 2. Multi colored lines across all monitors, seemingly randomly. Back to 191.03

Just came here to post I just installed 191.97 WHQL too on Win 7 x64.

I...

- Uninstalled the previous Nvidia drivers, and the matrox software
- Rebooted to safe mode
- Ran driversweeper for Nvidia clenaup
- Rebooted to normal mode
- Installed 191.07 WHQL and rebooted
- Installed matrox software

Everything works as with 191.03.

Not got any DX10 titles to tets with tho =/

A format later, and everything's back to normal, running the new driver. Been hammering away on Aion for an hour now without problems.

Upgrading drivers with the matrox box is iffy at best.

I just upgraded my drivers, vista ultimate x64. Used current firmware and drivers. I did not uninstall anything, just installed the new drivers over the old ones. Firmware, then restart, GXM then restart, NVIDIA 191.07 drivers, restart. It came up as 3840x1024, then I added a custom resolution via the nvidia control panel. These numbers came from back when we were getting 182 working; you need to select the "CVT Reduced Blank" option first.

Monitors are samsung 2253LW, after finishing the install they show 60Hz.

191.07 version

185 version

Man this sucks, I haven't got Vista/Win7 working for ages at 5040 and thought now they have it sorted. But doesn't work for every one Grrrrr.
I dunno what I can say... this was a total freah install of Win 7 191.07, the GXM and the firmware. And it worked.
