Hi all,

Having some really weird issues when trying to upgrade my drivers, never had this problem before and at a bit of a loss as to how to fix things...

I am currently running 10.9 and have tried upgrading to 10.10,10.11 and 10.12 and getting the same issue every time. The uninstall goes fine but when i try and install the new drivers the PC either crashes at the driver install or refuses to install the driver element correctly - it will boot into windows but showing the driver installation as failed, only way to fix it is a system restore roll back. On one of the installs it even seemed to screw up my boot hdd and i had to run error checking on it :(
System is pretty new and have upgraded the drivers from 10.6 to 10.9 with no issues in the past...

In case it was related to my eyefinity setup i have also tried running just one screen for the install but getting the same issue...

My setup is as follows:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5970 Series x2 (but crossfire disabled so only running 1)
Description: Realtek Digital Output(Optical) (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Graphics Driver: ATI 10.9
Screens: 3x 27" LG
Resolution: 5760x1080
Primary HDD: 128GB Corsair SDD

Really at a loss here, any advice would be really appreciated :)

cheers

Bomber

With the 10.9 drivers installed and working, just run the setup for the latest drivers and avoid doing the uninstall option. I've done this for years and many others with ATI....errrmmmm.... AMD video cards have been doing it also. You might get a prompt to reboot the system afterwards so do that if/when prompted.

Good luck!
