Ohhh really and how so. Are you saying these are excellent drivers and they fixed many problems because people are still having issues with eyefinity. The hot keys and shortcut keys still do not work properly. Most games are seeing no improvement unless your using tri fire. Uhh what else they had to release a hotfix for a driver the same day the driver was released. You don't see this kind of stuff from Nvidia I am no fan boy either it is just the truth and facts. Now obviously ATI is much smaller company but at least get your drivers right and make shit work how it is supposed too. Again the only reason I went with this card is for eyefinity.

9.11 I had to rename Borderlands to Bioshock to get textures inside building to show up yea uhhh was ATI aware of that. I have to constintly switch between eyefinity and extended or else I will have tearing the only way to get it to go away is to keep switching back and forth. So please tell me what is so great about these new drivers and haha hotfix. And please explain what was so retarded about my post. I am installing these drivers now. I will really let you know how I feel about them in the morning.

Dude, I feel your frustration, but I really do think they're trying. I'm certainly no ATI worshipper, but they're making steady progress. They delivered these Crossfire-enabled drivers *way* ahead of schedule, and while they may not work in every game, they work very well indeed in quite a few.

I'm a little unusual in that I still have a GTX280 SLI system to play with, and so I can tell you that Nvidia has its share of little issues as well. I'll be the first to admit that the Nvidia drivers and overall user experience are more mature, but consider the fact that the 58xx series is a brand new architecture. Let's give them just a little time to iron things out before we give up.

Well I would admit that too. How long has this card been out now. And there are still problems with catalyst, there hasn't been much improvements it does not take Nvidia this long to release a good driver after they release a card. 99% of the time everything works out of the box with Nvidia not so much with ATI. Thats all I am saying.

Catalst 9.12 has been posted - this add support for OpenGL 3.2 on our DX10.1+ products. Grab it here:

Thanks for the heads up! Love the new drivers. It seems to have fix a number of rendering bugs with Dragon Age (e.g. flashing with vsync enabled no longer a problem).

Does this mean that you can run three monitors from DVI (two on one card and one from the other) without the need for one of those DP>DVI adapters?

Or can you still only use the outputs on one card?

That's a great question direwolf. I too would like to know if that is possible now.

I also have a query to add. With a crossfire setup and the Eyefinity (DVI+DVI+DP) hooked up to card 1. Can I use card 2 for HDMI out to my flat screen TV and use all four outputs in extended mode at the same time. I hope that made some sense.

Thanks Dave for any info on this.

Yeah Vantage is one of the things the say they boosted the score of in the release notes, that doesn't really matter though its just a benchmark. Game scores are what matters.

Hi Dave, have any new games been added to the whitelist of games that work with Eyefinity and Crossfire? Is there a site where this list is updated? Thanks!

In truth my software oriented buddies surprised me with this. I do not know if these drivers are using the White List or Black List. I’m OoO for Xmas, but I’ll see if I can find out more. I know there will certainly be more to come in the future though,
You release a official driver then release a hotfix the same day for that driver WTH. And nothing really got fixed.

Eyefinity is but one facet of what Catalyst delivers, and the Hotfix does actually contain a number of updates that are not Eyefinity related. We are committed to providing monthly driver updates and so there are multiple releases in the pipeline at any one time – the drivers that are being developed, the set that are going through pre-qual, the set that is being certified, etc., etc. The Hotfix drivers represents a code that was not available in time for certification; effectively much of the additional updates here in the hotfix will make it into the certified stream for Cat 10.1.
Early CrossfireX impressions (using 2 5870's @ 5760x1200): I was WRONG! CrossfireX makes a big difference (I thought this high res would be bound by memory size and speed).

5670x1200 is only about 70% more pixels that 2560x1600. Many titles can run in 1GB of framebuffer at 2560x1600 with AA enabled, so 5670x1200 isn’t always going to be an issue, but you may have to drop back an AA level in relation to 2560x1600.

I don't think you understand. My post is referring purely to gains from having enabled *Crossfire* - not gains from the drivers themselves in a a single-GPU scenario. I have no idea how these drivers stack up to 9.11 in single-GPU situations.
