I'm VERY pleased to share with everyone, the brand new WSGF Podcast. This is something that I've wanted to do for a long time, but have never had the time to devote to it. Luckily two local Houston-area members of the WSGF, Simon "TheDestroyer" and Chris "peanut" have taking up idea, and will produce a regular podcast that covers WSGF news, gaming in general, and a look at their favorite rigs from reddit/r/battlestations.

I'm proud to announce two new options for the WSGF Edition Stands, and for all of the Freedom line by Ergotech. The first is a through-desk mount, which allows for a superbly clean desk space (when wall mounting isn't an option). The second is a "short pole" version of the wall-mount kit. This provides a wall-mount option (with the appropriate pole length) for owners of the Freedom Triple or Triple XL stands.
Additionally, Ergotech has recently discontinued the ICE Cube power option. They do have a new model in the works, but it is a few months out. I've gone through some testing to find a suitable replacement, though none are really as elegant a solution as the ICE Cube. All three options here are outlined in the three YouTube videos below.

Tek Syndicate got the details from Dell. It is a TN panel (but apparently a good one), has DP and mini-DP inputs, and DP out. With it being 30Hz at 4k, I wonder if it can do 60Hz at 2k (2560x1440) or 1080p.

Each year we review the massive amounts of news coming out of CES, and distill it down to the topics of interest to gamers. We'll update this topic each day with new posts, and comment in the forum thread if you think we've missed something.

The folks over at Humble Bundle just revealed their latest weekly bundle. The new set contains: Samorost 2, Machinarium, Lume, Windosill, Shelter and Botanicula. We have entries in our database for Machinarium and Botanicula, but lack entries for the other four.
If you'd like to help us with entries for a couple of the titles in this weekly set, the WSGF would be happy to gift the bundle to you. If you're interested, reply here.

In what is becoming an annual tradition, the WSGF is returning a bit of our bounty to the hardworking volunteers that do so much heavy lifting to make the site run all year long. This year (as we did last year), I am giving $100 Steam cards to our Admins - AussieTimmeh, Brett, CrackerJackMack, Delphium and Skid.
This year we are also gifting $50 in Steam cash to each of our active Moderators - GeneralAdmission, Haldi, thelolotov, Scavvenjahh and ViciousXUSMC. This year we are also giving $50 Steam cash to our active developers - dopefish, HaYDeN, and helifax. And finally, I am giving a $50 Steam card to PC Gaming Wiki Moderator Garrett, who is very active here and contributes tons of content and ideas to the WSGF.
This has been a great year for the WSGF - particularly due to stand sales. We are very happy to give back to the dedicated volunteers who help keep this place running. In 2014 we will be doing more game give aways to the community as well.
Update - I realized after the fact that I hadn't purchased a card for Garrett. And, I realized that I needed to include Nox Deleo, who has taken over updating of the Master Monitor List. With those two cards, it brings our total give away to $1000.

Based on two reports from Engadget, both LG and Samsung are poised to showcase 105" Ultra HD TVs sporting a 21:9 "ultra widescreen" aspect ratio. Both displays are curved, and sport a resolution of 5,120 x 2,160 - a total of 11.06M pixels.
By comparison a "4K UHD" display has 8.29M pixels, making these sets basically 5.3K UHD". By way of comparison, a 5x1-Portrait Eyefinity configuration has 10.4M pixels, and an aspect ratio of 25.3:9 - just wider than the 21:9 aspect ratio here. Recently announced 3440x1440 21:9 displays have 4.93M pixels (roughly 2.5 HD), and just under half the pixels of these new massive panels.
If you've got the money for one of these new displays, you can compare performance to any 5x1-Portrait Eyefinity benchmarks out there. Until this resolution makes its eventual way to PC displays, you can keep on the lookout for the 34" 3440x1440 panels which will require half the horsepower.
I've been helping with this for the past several months, and I'm happy to announce that the update's live, as in, RIGHT NOW, for all existing owners of Postal 2 on Steam, they'll be rolling the update out to other digital distribution services in the near future, but the game's on sale for a meager $2.49 at the time of writing, so... why wait? Buy one for yourself, buy one for your wife and kids*(see note)!
