This is running on a single ATi 5870 !
Maybe someone else out there has experience with this ?
Left 4 Dead is not a massive taxing game on the graphics card, not by a long shot, hence my original comment of it depends on what game you play.

Can't get the link to work properly because the url has square brackets in it, so select the 5870 and click compare.
A nice list for you, shows benchmarks on different standard 16:10 resolutions at high quality with anti aliasing on and off etc.
For example, the largest screen they test is 1920x1200, so 2.3m pixels, using the 5870 and Far Cry 2 as base point it, at max settings it runs at 74FPS. Now its worth remembering that the decrease in performance as screen size goes up is not 1 to 1 it can go ether way, it depends on the hardware and game, but for this we will assume it is.
7680*1600 = 12.3m pixels
12.3 / 2.3 = 5.35 times more pixels
74 / 5.35 = 13.83 FPS
