I am still having a lot of trouble getting this to work in 7680 x 1600.

I've tried both the delete the Options folder method and Hex Edit the options file method.

The problem I run into is that when I launch the game the intro movie is in full screen mode (640x480 badly stretched). When it tries to go to the intro menu, it just blinks in and out, like it is having trouble with the low res full screen stretched.

So if I hit escape or something, I can get into the intro menu (to start the game) in 640x480 windowed mode stretched. When I start a new game, it then does seem like the resolution is closer to 7680 x 1600.. but it is stuck in Windowed mode (no way to get it back to Full Screen). And I am only seeing about the top half to 2/3 of the resolution.

It just doesn't seem like it is responding the way others have described. When others using triple screen gaming have deleted the Options file, how are you loading the intro menu in full screen and getting into the game without switching to Window mode?

This is weird. Both the intro logos ("Vert-") and main menu (stretched) should use your native res, full-screen. Maybe the engine is freaking out because of the extreme pixel count... :?
What sort of setup do you have - Eyefinity, Nv Surround, SoftTH ?

I have a NV Surround setup. And it is very new, so I don't much know what I am doing yet. I've got Just Cause 2 working (totally native) and WoW (just had to edit the ini file and reboot). This was the third game I've tried.

To get some more data points, I went ahead and downloaded the edited config files from the Detailed Report thread. I tried the 5040x1050 one (figuring the monitors would just stretch it) and have the same exact problem (intro movie is VERY zoomed in, intro menu won't load until I go to windowed mode, and then can't get back to full screen). When the Full Screen flickering is happening, I can barely tell that the "Loading" screen is in the background. it won't actually load the intro menu until I alt-tab out and go to Windowed mode.

Since others have gotten NV Surround to work on 5040x1050 in DX10 (which is what I think your custom options file is) it must be something with my config.

I'm trying to run Matrox PowerDesk util (got the name right?) to manage the windows in my desktop. Maybe I should kill that?

With a NV Surround setup, are there any other common helper apps (like one uses with Matrox solution) that I should be running that might help this?

I'm not sure using the 5040 file with a non-5040 desktop res would work, anyway.
Did you try deleting the Options folder then setting your desktop to 5040x1050 or 3840x800 ? Does it make any difference ?

So once I got home, I tried a few things:

Set desktop to 5040 x 1050 and tried with both no Options folder and the modified Options file. Neither worked.

Then I tried deleting Matrox PowerDesk. Did it again, didn't help.

Then tried 3840 x 800 with no options folder. Same problem.

Basically, the intro screens load in extreme Vert-, it gets to the screen where there should be brief loading before the intro menu pops up and it just hangs with a blank screen. As soon as I alt tab to desktop, it goes to windowed mode and works. But I can never get it back to full screen. Even selecting full screen from the Display menu does the weird stuck on black screen thing again.

I'm just confused since others have been able to get it to work with 5040 x 1050 in NV Surround. Not sure what else to try. Any thoughts?

Yes, thats really weird, its working perfectly fine here at 5040x1050 in NVS, using scavv' file.

Wondering if it might somehow be connected to VSync or the refresh rate.

I've read sometimes about people having the flicker issue if the refresh rate was doing weird things.

Interestingly enough, even though the game has a refresh rate setting, it is not available when I load without an options file. And VSync is off. I've tried manually enabling Vsync, which didn't fix the issue. But there is no way to change the refresh rate as that option is greyed out.

I don't know how well both Nv Surround and RFG handle vsync settings, but that's strange indeed.
Did you try DX9 mode (-nod3d10 command line parameter) ?

Good call. So when I force DX9 mode it appears to work as it should. So far I've just tried 7680 x 1600.

A few "issues" still though. For one, I think others are getting DX10 in 5040 x 1050 using NVS, so not sure why that won't work for me.

Also, when it loads forcing DX9, the intro menu is VERY sluggish (long delay between moving arrow key to select different things and movement on the screen). But least I can slowly get the game loaded. Once loaded it works fine.

Other issue is that so far I can't up any of the graphics settings at all. It seems anytime I change anything in the Display settings (from the main menu), that once I go into the game (even within the same session where I already started without the options file) it badly messes up.

So next I am going to try to see if I can edit any of the graphics settings from within a loaded game. I am also going to try and touch 1 setting at a time to see if just one of them is messing things up. I also am thinking of trying everything at some lower resolutions.

I still wish I had a better understanding of what is going wrong with DX10 because I am worried that I've done something wrong or different and this issue is going to crop up in other games that work for others.
